Cackling hags on The View Joy Behar and Barbara Walters mock John Boehner's 60 minutes interview

The irony of these cackling hags complaining about John Boehner's crying is so thick that you can cut it with a knife. The same cackling hags that couldn't keep their emotions in check when Obama got elected in 2008, or threw a tantrum and walked off the set when Bill O'Reilly said there's a "Muslim" problem are now mocking John Boehner as "emotionally unstable" and "Weeper of the House" because he cried last night in an interview with snotty Leslie Stahl on 60 minutes while discussing the "American Dream."

Ever the classy bunch, the ladies of "The View" spent a few minutes Monday mocking incoming Speaker of the House John Boehner for tearing up during an interview with CBS's Lesley Stahl.

The usual suspects, apparently no longer bothered by dramatic showings of disrespect towards national leaders, hit Boehner with characteristically immature and uninformed attacks.

The bigger surprise, though, was self-proclaimed "objective" reporter Barbara Walters, who claimed that Boehner "has an emotional problem," since "every time he talks about something that's not 'raise taxes,' he cries."

So, do you want the discussion to be about Boehner or the women of the View. About Boehner: his crying is too much, and would never be tolerated from a woman (talk about hypocrisy.) It is also true that he usually cries when he talks about himself, how hard he had it, and how great he has done. That's narcissisim, not empathy. About the women, don't like any of the women on the show, although some of them are ok in other venues. (Like Whoopi, tolerate Baba Wawa, Hasselbeck is just too politically opposite for me and Behar is obnoxious.) But sometimes they are right, just as sometimes they are wrong. This time, I think they were right.

Boehner's a crybaby. Bush was in office for 8 years, another crybaby. No Crybabies in Office! Boehner disgusts me now even more than ever. I had a strong dislike for his phony outrage and transparent corporatism. Now he's a crybaby. Get out of my face Boehner and stay away from my Constitution!

Hillary Clinton cries during the election and she's criticized.

Boehner needs a bottle of Jim Beam with a nipple on the end and a set of golf clubs. Works everytime!

If this had been the first occasion for Boehner to cry, you might have a point. But his emotional loss of control is beginning to be a regular occurence. He appears to still be suffering under stress from his childhood per his accounts which could denote childhood PTSD. It scares me to have him so close to the presidency. It is undignified and does not speak well for his emotional stability.

Why the View to me is basically the Jerry Springer show on estrogen. It is a pointless POS show.

LOL all of you making fun of Boehner, NO wonder a woman will never be in the White House.

I didn't watch 60 Minutes as in the long run I don't care.

But yeah it is hypocritical all right. greg-709692 pointed it out in #2.

Nancy Pelosi doesn't cry in public every other week.

Boehner is weak. 'Weeper of the House' is appropriate.

All that crying he did while handing out Oil checks on the House floor. Disgusting. :)

You nailed it, cmlawyer. It's just not the norm to see someone walking down the street, sobbing uncontrollably. This guy does just that. He can't even clearly articulate what it is he's sobbing about. It's not just a tear down the cheek, it looks like a psychotic experience.

That's outside the norm. If he wasn't 2 steps from the Nuclear Football, no one would give a rip. I think we're going to learn a whole lot more about this...creature, in the next few years.

And o'stephanie, it's not only a regular occurence, it's been occuring for over 20 years. He uses it to his best advantage...

They didn't put that "emotion chip" in when she was built!

Maybe we've advanced now, but the new and improved "emotion chips" just don't work with here old mechanics.

I have no problem with men crying- it's healthy. But in Speaker Boehner's case- it is cause for concern, based on the subject that consistently brings him to tears. I think trauma from childhood is a valid observation- and based on the severity of these emotional breakdowns, if he's not in therapy, he should immediately seek out a professional's help.

This is nothing to be ashamed of- frankly, I'd be way more comfortable knowing he was in therapy even though...no, because he will be SoH.

That is my impression too. I love a man who tears up for injustice generically but it seems to me as well that John cries over anything he can relate to HIMSELF. Not sure his issues have been resolved.

If he can bring an issue to himself he weeps like any man or woman who should have sought therapy years ago. Sorry but they are spot on and it doesn't matter how many degrading female names you call them...doesn't change anything.

Where people may suffer thanks to the tax plan that raises the deficit thanks to a tax break for the wealthy, it has his support, bank bailouts for Bush he supported, etc, he has no tears to spill, except for the bailout where he cried in Congress for the banks and the sad condition Bush's economy was in when Bush was President - how his growing up was bla bla bla

Look it up. He could care less is the middle class suffers. Nary a tear as he placed their future on the table if he could not get the tax break for the wealthy. Come on now, this one is a no-brainer. There is something egotistically self centered around his tears. He must be able to bring himself into the suffering to see suffering.

Mocking is only the FIRST of the things Boehener deserves. he should be quite thankful he has not gotten the rest of what is on the list. If i ever met him, it would be everything i could do to prevent myself from spitting on him. But, i was raised better than that.

This new Repubikkkan Regime frightens me more than anything I saw under under Cheny/Bush, and i would never be allowed to present how i feel abotu Cheney.

Bluekilgoretrout--

No a woman, and yes I am one, won't ever be President and for this reason. If a man is not even allowed to cry and it is known that women are a lot more emotional than men, women won't ever be President as we are seen as too emotional.

Who really gives a damn if he cried. I sure as hell don't.

Nice bullying though. So men are not allowed to cry or else they are f-ing wimps. Men then are said to be emotionless and insensitive especially to women. Women then get upset because men cannot be more emotional to understand them. But men have been indoctrinated to never be emotional to never cry or else they are wimps or made fun of.

Oh and of course if you dare cry in public you are then mentally unhinged. But wait two hags, yes two hags can walk off stage throwing a temper tantrum over Bill O'Reilly and that is all right. Walters makes people cry ALL the time in her interviews. She made Oprah cry the other night.

By the way Obama cried ON TV talking about his deceased grandmother.

H. Clinton has choked back tears during the campaign trail. Did Bill not cry over the Lewinsky affair/scandal?

Pelosi choking back tears yet she said there is no crying in politics. But then if you show no emotions you are seen as detached, insensitive and cold, empty.

What a grand society. Talk about seriously f-ed up and making no sense at all.

Liberals can be emotional, but they cannot let Conservatives be emotional. That is hypocritical, not to mention, bullying and stupid.

Boehner cried when he spoke in front of the RNC and the press. He cried during the interview. Anyone notice he ONLY cries for HIMSELF...for his American Dream.....for his children..

He surely does not cry for all the school children that he has been part of the creation of the situtation that has put, and continues to KEEP their parents out of work and unable to keep their homes and food on their tables!

He only cries over his BLESSINGS - health, wealth and financial security! And, he does this on the voters dime....all the folks who elected him to office and continue to pay for his wage and lifetime health benefits!!

Boehner SHOULD cry for all the folks who are suffering in this country - while he and MOST of the rest of the elected officials, from all political parties, who share his comfy lifestyle, continue to play power games with the future of everyone in this country!

It's just plain shameful that all any of them care about is lining their own pockets and keeping their families safe, secure, healthy and happy!! The whole bunch are greedy, egotistical excuses for mankind!!!

Go ahead Boehner......cry some more tears for "all the school children" who went to bed hungry and cold tonight!!

The gals on The View got this one right! Anyone who compares Boehner to the Obama election or any other great moment in our countrie's history is clearly waaaaaaaay off target here! All Boehner has PROVED he can do is cry..........and give thanks for HIS American Dream! Great move Boehner - what a way to start 2012!!!

Boehner and Beck prove that men are more emotional than women. And let's all remember that crying is not the only emotion. Rage and jealousy are other manifestations of emotion, and men exhibit those very often. Therefore, using that litmus test, men should not be president, kshark.

cmlawyer-2385572 : I would say the point of this seed was more or less to show the double standards and hypocrisy displayed by the women towards Boehner. To react and say things in respect to previous incidents on their show, or in the news... and then to act as the people they criticize is what I find bothering.

I had a lovely discussion on this topic yesterday, and I'll not bother repeating myself entirely, but I hope that his crying is a reflection of passion, or related to thinking back on harder times... etc. I would like to see what the man does starting in January before I get up in arms over tears...

And then finally about the "double standard". If anything, you should recognize that a man will receive harsher criticism for crying than a woman. It is only in a "man's situation" (by stereotype), where if a woman breaks down will she be judged as a woman. For example, a woman going through boot camp in USMC. I referenced Hillary's tear during the 08 primaries and how it had a positive response for her immediately following it.

Dale S : Did you really need to call him a creature? I guess I have to mind my business about all the names people will use for him over the next year or two, Bonehead, Boner, Boohoo'er, etc., after all the right had a few names for Pelosi. But creature, is he really sub-human? Okay... silly question, I know... and I know where this sort of literary choice gets made, but part of having a courteous dialouge with others is also keeping it to points, facts, and clean opinions. And I'm sorry to pick on you Dale when there are many other... much better examples, your comment just stood out because it was in blue.

I guess it's only fashionable if your a Lefty, to be emotional.

Lefties have a lock on so,so, so many things no one else is allowed to have!

If your Conservative and emotional, your an idiot!

If your Liberal and emotional, your caring! (reference the Views walkout when O'Reilly was on). If a conservative did that, they'd be chastised for a year by Liberals as In-sensitive to the feelings of the guest.

      Hypocrites!

Seriously? You took the time to post that because he forgot an 'n' in "panned" or possibly could have used a comma?

      Holy cow!!

I mean, heck - exactly how did a missing 'n' in one word (that was still easily understood) make that less of an 'adult conversation'?

Look - ask either of them (Greg or Driftwood) and they will tell you that I will cross words w/them over just about anything.

But to try and go all passive aggressive with snotty stuff like "It might help in having an adult conversation" only makes you look sillier than Greg does w/his firebomb one-liner posts.

Find those (numerous) posts of a thousand words w/no freaking Caps or sentence/paragraph structure at all - Go hassle them for heaven's sake.

The simple truth is that Boner's crying is the result of alcohol abuse.Lots of it! Repeated assaults on the brain's chemistry(specifically the Hypothalamus I believe) causes this kind almost spontaneous emotional outburst. It has nothing to do with being sensitive or caring for any particular people or issue! Trust me, I know what a drunk looks like. That was not my first thought when I saw the interview with Boehner. The tears I saw seemed to be about kids and their futures. (I didn't see the whole interview.) I'll keep an eye on him and see how things go before making up my mind. On the surface it does seem sad if a man can't express any emotion in public without being perceived as a wimp. Still, I'll have to see more before I make up my mind about him.

Nobody has a problem with men showing true emotion but this was a feel sorry for me moment not a true breakdown. This guy was relating to a tough early life. BS His family owned a bar in Cincinati. He cried about haveing to sweep the floor there when he was young like it happened in his early adult hood. Not true he was doing that when he was 8 and only on occasion. His family had 11 children and if he suffered any it was because he was in a family who was catholic and could not use birth control He went to the most expensive High school (catholic) in that area and attended Xavier University the most expensive catholic college in the area. No what he was crying about was not fact it was BS as is most of his so called rhetoric. He admitted he passed out graft checks on the floor of congress and is a poor example of a human being. They think he is nuts not for crying but because he seem unstable all the time and should probably seek help.

He is an alcoholic displaying typical alcoholic tendencies (staring, mumbling, can't direct attention to one answer only, is very evasive, and crying).

He is probably very sick, physically, and knows it as he looks like he hits the sauce very often especially after being raised in his father's saloon. Alcoholics don't live very healthy lives!

Got news for you folks. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with me......and I am a man that is not afraid to cry. I do not do drugs. I do not even remotely come close to having a drinking problem. I am not physically, mentally, nor emotionally sick. My mental capabilities are far from deficient, nor are they suspect in any manner. If they were, or if I had any of these tendencies, I would not be able to keep my job.

You'll correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't mentally ill people typically unaware they are ill? In fact, many trumpet just how mentally healthy they really are, when no one asked to begin with.

BTW....Personality disorders seem to be rampant among elected officials: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1961710/politicians_and_narcissistic_personality.html

Ha! Maybe DLMaston is simply referring to some wierd personality test that an equally weird employer would subscribe to.

You're right. I can't think of any employer requiring a mental health test as a condition of employment. I mean, how long would a legitimate diagnosis take anyway? Why would a prospective employer even wonder about an employee's mental health condition in the first place?

DL....can you shed any light on that?

There are other jobs that require mental health testing. Soldiers require a psychological eval before enlisting. I'm sure any top secret job requires a psych eval. My husband had one when he was interviewing for an NSA job. He didn't mind at all and recieved a clean bill of health.

                    seen too much #13.15

Here's the original comment from DLMaston in #13.2:

" My mental capabilities are far from deficient, nor are they suspect in any manner. If they were, or if I had any of these tendencies, I would not be able to keep my job."

Forget that the comment was to a question no one asked, but DL did take a broad based cheap-shot at me and others when he said this: "

"Your short sighted stereotypes and misconceptions are inconsequential, at best, in judging the character of this man....or any other human, for that matter."

"In any manner" and 'any of these tendencies" would seem to mean DLMaston meant a full mental health evaluation.

Since DLMaston has left without answering my question, we can only speculate as to the degree of testing he is apparently subject to.

Soldiers, police recruits, etc. may undergo some psychological evaluation, but I doubt it is a comprehensive full mental health evaluation. The process could take weeks to complete, and companies and municipalities simply cannot commit the time and resources for such testing. If it does take place, I would think it is for a very few individuals, and not S.O.P.

Too bad DLMaston bugged out. I was interested in what his response might be.

Well, I am back my friends! I honestly had no idea that this article would generate so much debate. I just wanted to post at least one thing to counteract all of the negative posting by the left (including, he's hormonal, mentally unstable, a drunk, a wuss, and may have a disease with the side effects of having a small penis and testicles, to name a few).

I am fresh off my one-day NV vacation that was deserved, desired, and very much welcome.

I will be moderating, so please, mind the CoH.

And btw, Sally jumped in because I demanded that this article be restored as it was in no way a violation of the CoH. I must say, I am shocked that people that don't agree will go so far as to collapse an article. Sally restored this article and suspended some while she was at it.

And to my dear friend greg - and vol, and BB, and robynlewis, etc, etc. - thanks for having my back while I was gone. You guys are amazing :-)

You know, another thing that will allow you to tear up like he does. It's called being in touch with your emotions. It's called being unafraid to show that you have emotions. It's called being unafraid to show that a thing, or an idea, or a set of values mean something deep and real to you.

Could it be all these other horrible, negative things everybody is throwing around? Sure....I guess. Some of them are more valid than others, but....sure.

However, there is ALWAYS another side to the coin. My suggestion is that other side.

                          Earned? I don't think so.

Alot of the oil millionaires in Texas didn't earn @!$%#. They received a plot of land, a tractor and a farm house, all courtesy of the Gov after WWII. When the Oil boom started, they all got rich compliments of Uncle Sam.

Let me offer an analogy here for your consumption:

Two people, one a Billionaire and one making 50K per year. I sit them both down next to a Million Dollars in cash that I just printed (I'm the Federal Reserve).

I tell the person making 50K, "If I give the Billionaire this Million dollars, your life will greatly improve." <smile>

Forbes inherited. Rockefellers inherited. Heinz's inherited. The list goes on. Many people didn't earn @!$%#, they inherited. The uber-wealthy in this day in age for the most part inherited their wealth from their forefathers.

It breaks my heart that they many uber-wealthy may have to forgo buying that new limousine or jet plane for another year or two if their taxes go up. Truly heartbreaking. Those Audi's, BMW's, Ferrari's, Jaguars they purchase go to support a strong vibrant middle-class, just not the middle-class in the United States.

Umm, excuse me, but y'all didn't get upset when the President was the object of the disrespect. And now you get all huffy because your boy is the target. I tried to tell you that conservatives were setting a tone that they weren't gonna like it when it was their turn. No sympathy. What goes around comes around. Deal with it.

I never watch "The Vile", um I mean the "The View". I find them insipid, rude and loud. But I have to admit they are the cream of the crop of what is wrong with Progressives. Compassion for your fellow human being is NOT allowed . . .UNLESS, it's contrived and phony. Let's face it, these contemptible women are not people one would want at their side while on your death bed. Cackling Hags, one and all and it's not just limited to "The View". I am finding every single Progressive, woman or man to fit in that category. Go ahead Progressives, continue to revel in an others pain and see where it gets you?

Vile? C'mon now. The view is nothing more than another pretentious and silly ass chatterbox media show.

Limbaugh, beck and fox news are in the same boat. Ho hum.

It seems to me that the repugs are the ones who love to revel-and even get enjoyment- in the pains of others, not rich enough to make the selfish grade! Did I miss something?

I just love when progressive defend Bwaba, a woman who could not stop herself from "raising" penises all of her life. She can say anything she wants but so can I. According to her own words there weren't to many "Dicks" she didn't want to try on for size. So always look at the source.

Oh I almost forgot when Hillary cried Bwaba felt compassion even thought Hillary was running for President. There I go again, progressive women are OK with progressive women crying because after all, women are so emotional. Progressive men are OK with progressive men crying because that shows their feminine side.

Sorry, but this conservative agrees, for the first and probably last time, with the cackling hags whom I abhor...I saw 60 minutes when it aired the other night, and Boehner left me embarrassed for him and the republican party. It left me speechless...still scratching my head. I knew immediately that he was going to pay for his irrational behavior on set. I'm not willing to blindly support or rationalize his obvious instability simply because I lean toward republican and conservative ideals, as his position is far too important. Look at it this way...If Boehner reacted to a commoner's job interview...say, MacDonalds, in the same manner he reacted on 60 minutes, he most certainly wouldn't have been invited back.
